Saturday at Bremerton Raceways was a blast, didnt get to take my S4 out cause of the turbos, but got a ride in ignacio's porsche, kyle's evo, and cable's uber S4! All had different strengths around the track, actually alot of fast cars out there suprisingly with the baby seals thrown in there here and there... tons of fun!

Kyle's Evo..very suprised at how his this car runs threw the corners, flat out fast basically everywhere on the track.

Chris's GTI, didnt get a ride in this but car seemed to hold its own very well in the higher groups

Group photo, didnt get a pic of cables car on the track cause I was always out at the same time as his car..I think there were only a handful of "race" cars that had the ability to pass him on the straights, when I rode with him, we were passing 4-5 cars at a time!

Ignacios Porsche - once the race tires warmed up this car would fly!

and nobody had an instructor with them. Is it just drive at your own risk alone or what?

.....I was never passed while driving in the full race car group until I experienced a limp mode anomoly and got off the gas and waved cars by. It is more important to me that the car last then continue in an abusive activity.

I fried an EGT and it sent me into limp mode. I have the CEL scaler set so that it resets frequently and basically was running 10psi. During which time I was still passing many cars, several at a time.

There were two full race Porsches that were reeling all of us in but, one of which was an SCCA club racing division champion. They and Kyle passed me when I waved them by on the straight after I decided to pull of the track to better identify my boost issue.

Vehicle settings:
1st Group - Boost: 16psi hold Timing: 4deg adv
2nd Group - Boost: 14psi hold Timing: 3deg adv
4th Group - Boost: 10psi hold Timing: 2deg adv

I enjoyed the cornering more than the straights and subsequently dialed down my top end to increase propolged performance and enjoy the more dynamic aspects of the course. Thank you to all the RGC crew I had a blast!

Jacob where were you at man! You missed out!!

Even in the advanced group there were only a few faster cars....all of them modded substantially. My biggest pet peeve was guys in faster cars not letting people by on the straight that were faster around the corners and had no other way to get around. My "habitual late braking" was the only way that I could get around a modded WRX on the straight.

....driver courtesy missing and not enough driver discretion applied to vehicle power in the groupings.

I went out in the beginners group to start not to do any baby seal clubbing but as a recognition that it was my first time out on the course. By the end of the day it was clear that I needed to be in the full race group.

In the first group I went out in I passed almost everone twice. In the second group I passed almost everone twice except Ignacio in his 951 Porsche and an STI, both of which passed once. In the third group (full race) I passed about 12 cars out of a group of 21 in the frist 4 laps before deciding to pull off track on lap 6 due to concerns about mechanical issues. My car runs fine now I just need to replace an EGT, until then it is unplugged to circumvent limp mode.

I was out there to compete against myself and improve my own skills, besides have fun. But I would be lying if I said it wasn't fun out manouvering/powering other vehicles.

I had a really hard time with this, in a basically stock GTI, at around 215hp, I was SIGNIFICANTLY faster than a lot of cars in the corners, but I really had a tough time with getting around the high-HP newbies on the straights. Cable included :D :D (hehe I kid I kid!)

In the first group I started right in front of him and by the end I was coming right back up on him. I thought he was going to pWn me.

.....compete with more power and a skilled driver. PWONED!!!!

What did I hear you say......RE-BIRTH THE Z!!!!

I was happily satisfied with my initial effort at Bremerton. I felt I would do well but, sought to humble myself.

I honestly feel Kyle has the most experience out of any of us on the tarmak and I respect his skill. I was impressed when I reeled him in the corners (the straight is about power not skill IMO) and passed him after being two cars back. But somehow after I passed him I was paying too much attention to him in my rear veiw mirror and let my cornering go by the way side. He was holding on strongly to me in the corners before I slowed down to pull off course.

Gotta give it to DSM for making the EVO a well handling package outta da' box.

I think 12psi and 5deg adv timing will be more than enough to enjoy the track.

Damn!!! $40!! That's cheap track time. Definately let us know about this in advance. I'd have been there. What is IRDC???
