Should I take it in to have it checked? Does my chipped ECU just have a code that needs cleared or could the extra power from the chip be tripping the CEL because something in my engine's about to go?

View Full Version : My CEL came on last night. Took my chipped ECU out and now it's not on anymore. Any ideas? Negative459 12-06-2003, 03:59 PM Should I take it in to have it checked? Negative459 12-07-2003, 01:45 AM Certainly would have checked if I had the means. I have no VAG though and I didn't wanna trouble anyone with one for such a thing before I had a better idea of what may be going on. If I pop the chip back in and the CEL still shines I'll prolly just roll around stock until the next GTG or something. :-\ Jason Chen 12-07-2003, 09:17 AM Negative459 12-07-2003, 10:54 AM It's stumbling at Idle now, too.
