View Full Version : I juzt got a pressure tester from AWE and a VAG tool. If anyone needs to check anything, let me know R1ce 12-26-2002, 02:22 PM I still need an adaptor for the VAG, but it will be ordered shortly. Steveo369 12-26-2002, 04:03 PM I have the "homemade" boost gauge that Ed P did the write up on. I've never had access to an accurate pressure gauge to check and see if the registered value is "correct" The circuit design has calibration pots on it, but I just used the calibration voltage values outlined in the tech article. I might need to get in touch with you soon Kyle... What's the pressure tester consist of? At a minimum, I'll need to borrow a digital multimeter before the pressure tester. So, were you having problems with the S? What prompted the purchase of the VAG & tester? Hopefully not serious! We still need to get those beers! -Steveo R1ce 12-26-2002, 04:35 PM We will definately get to those beers soon! I think I owe Dien a few rounds as well. The Intake pressure tester thingy is pretty basic, I bought it to check for any boost leaks and I didn't find any so that is good. It hooks up to the intake and has a valve so you can hook up an air compressor. Slowly turn up the regulator to 10-15psi and listen for air leaks in the system. I'm not sure if this will help calibrate a boost guage and it only fits onto the y-pipe for the 2.7 as far as I can tell. I thought I had either: - a major boost leak (checked with the tester) - bad diverter valves (replaced with (710N's) - bad MAF (still need an adaptor to connect my laptop to do some logging with the VAG tool) - bad throttle body boot (replaced with bi-pipe) - bad spark plugs ($29 apiece from the dealer..sheesh! Found them $10 cheaper at shucks but havn't replaced yet. NGK PFR6Q) The bi-pipe didn't fix the stuttering at WOT. I put in the 710N valves which fixed the problem and I now have smoothe boost again. I'm starting to get used to chipped mode now though...I need an exhaust soon!

Intake Pressure Tester

Steveo369 12-27-2002, 08:06 AM Sorry to hear you're having a few issues. Maybe beers sometime the week after next? $240 worf of puddin 12-28-2002, 10:10 PM $240 worf of puddin 12-28-2002, 10:17 PM R1ce 12-30-2002, 11:42 AM I should be able to have it up and running within the week, so just let me know and we'll take a little cruise! |
