They said it wouldn't be hit and run, but his insurance would cover with the report. They did. Always a good idea dispite the hastle. put two holes in my bumper. I pulled over and showed him the damage. THIS F@#$$ER had the nerve to say that he didn't hit me that hard and that the holes were already there..... so I scared him into giving me his info and that was it.

I'm assuming that it happened while you weren't around, and thereby may not have known who/where or exactly when it happened, right?

I'm considering letting this sit through the winter as the looks of my car get less important as the powder comes down. The blemish will quickly be disguised by a thick layer of winter roadgrime...

My question is if you had it covered under your collision or comprehensive coverage? I can't afford a collision claim in terms of direct increases in premium. My comp deductible is also lower.

I know that depending on how I have it fixed (filled as opposed to replacement) will likely determine whether I cover the cost myself or get insurance involved. I'd like to push for replacement, as I have some scratches in my rear lower valence (black part)from backing into a low, unseen, decorative "log" lining the driveway at a friends house. &lt;grr&gt;

So the question is: if next spring I claim to my insurance the damage, but don't know how/when it was done, does that constitute a comp claim? or because it is appears to be damage done by another moving vehicle, then it has to be collision? Just throwing stuff out there, I guess I should just contact my insurance company.

As you can see from my post, I'm pretty sure it was the malibu, but the evidence was just too circumstantial (it COULD have been someone else) for me to really push it.
