Howdy Northwesters! I'm a NoCal about to move to Eugene and notice the closest dealers are Carerra Motors in Bend and Sunset Audi in Beaverton. Anyone familiar with either of these? They're both ~ 90 miles away so I'd like to make sure whoever I choose is a quality place. Would appreciate any feedback good, bad or otherwise.

They have expanded and remodeled. The Porsche building in particular looks like it should be in Stuttgart. They're not done with the Audi showroom yet. As far as service, in the past they had a bad back log. With two dedicated building for each marque it shouldn't be a problem any more. They are the only game in town. I still cant believe they are the only dealership in the Portland area.

I was treated very well. I paid more than a lot of people that post on AW, but I wanted a specific package. Everything is 1st class and they are very low pressure. I think I drove 5 cars over a week's time before ordering. They also have a good inventory. Ask for Darrell Kline.
The service department was very open about how they treated aftermarket parts (i.e. chips), I don't think I will have any problems. I picked up my car on Monday and everything was perfect!

Both are about the same from Eugene, approx 120 miles, but Portland is about a 2 hour drive(even less after you learn where the State patrol sets up shop on I-5) Bend is 3+. You'll also have to contend with the Santiam pass over the cascades to get to Bend. I will say that even though the drive to Bend is longer, its a much more scenic drive compared to the flat drive through the valley to Portland. Bend is also a cool town to visit.
I got my car at Sunset and they have been very helpful. As Whosyerdaddy stated they are in the midst of a major overhaul of the facilities. But it sounds like Carerra would work just as well. So it will really comes which one you'd rather drive to.

in the summer. In the winter, drop the car at Carrera for service and go skiing for the day at Bachelor. Portland is much quicker to reach, but why drive I-5 when you can drive a real road?

The new Porsche facility is supposed to split the service departments and allow them to do the Audis much more expediently than in the past, but they do still need to finish catching up before this will become more timely.
That was mostly becuase they had the car I wanted with all the options that I wanted. I too live in Eugene and have found that it's easier to get to Portland becuase of I-5. Then again, hwy 58 to bend is REALLY fun in an Audi. Sunset is almost done with a VERY nice facility and I personally prefeer spending the time that my service takes in downtown Portland (Sunset has several different ways to get you there) than in Bend (nothing but outlet stores... ugg). It is true that if you are scheduling routine service Sunset has quite a backlog, but when I had an Emergency they were able to get my in the next day and even offered do to it the day that I called. If you go to Sunset have a chat with Zed (the younger of the guys in service) he's cool and loves to chat about cars.
