Xmas Vacation was great, left Boxing day, the part of the Cruise in the Bahamas was interesting, needless to say I hate fat people, these folks really loose all civility once an unlimited amount of food is presented in front of them. I'm no spring chicken but I've revised my weight estimates of the Average American;
Male: 260lbs
Female: 280lbs

I hate other people's kids even more than i hate people. It seems when boarding a cruise, no one is capable of controlling their children these days. Every single one was screaming or whining about something. the ones too old to do so, are little sideways-baseball-cap-wearing-wannabe-douchebags. The only difference between the average american and the average non-american is money and freedom. Even in this ****ty economy, the number of large, clearly not-the-wealthiest families on the ship was staggering. whether or not they should have spent the money on the cruise is irrelevant; they had it in hand (or on a credit card) in the first place. i am quite certain that every country has such wonderful examples of humanity at its worst. it's just that those in other countries are not in a position to make it out onto a carribean cruise.

The peoplewatching was colorful though.

Curious, what was your impression of your ship experience and Norwegian as a cruise line? First time cruising or no? Thanks :)

"I hate people, I hate their children, I hate fatties, I hate fat Americans..."

"Hmmm, where should I spend my holiday where I will maximize my exposure to all of those? I know! A cruise!"

lets you eat formal dinner whenever you want and with whoever you want. When I'm on vacation I don't wanna be slotted with people I might not like let alone set a time when I can eat.

NCL has a 'cruise rewards' program they kept pushing.. While on board we did consider booking a Trans-Atlantic leaving New-York arriving in Spain/Italy a lot less kiddos and more unique places to port rather than just the Bahamas/Caribbean... Not that we didn't have fun but my advice if you're between 20-40 and considering a cruise book one of the bigger/newer ships, more stuff to do when at sea, less chance to be bothered by the glut of mobile American ****pumps. You can forget 99% of the pre-packaged shore excursions, couldn't get over feeling like a sheep on the one we did. They're wayyy overpriced nyway. You can leave ship nytime yr in port n/c nyway. Just go walkabout, get 10 min outside of port and talk to the locals, for the most part you'll get all the 411 you need.

The propensity to eat is overwhelming, fuking Americans for the most part don't seem to understand its not like that's the last plate of bacon being put out and rush the buffet line. I had a number of 'loud' conversations between my standing in line and my gf sitting down how the 'unlimited food selection' was exceptional. Didn't stop them one bit they kept rushing the food table like it was the last piece of food on-board.... lol

http://cruisetalk.org/
