After watching that, I dont think I would ever watch this show again. The guy testing the cars couldnt even drive! WTF did they just take some surfer and hand him the keys to the two cars? I dont care that the Lexus won the so called challenge, but come on just look a thte thing... its FUGLY!

The guys has Grand AM racing credentials, so, as much as he's not F1 driver, he's also not just you or I walking off the street.
Also, on those three tests, the RS4 lost...barely, but lost. How could he possibly have voted for the RS4? "Well, the Lexus won in every category, but the RS4 looks nicer, so I chose the RS4." Cmon, let's be graceful losers.
The fact that the RS4, which, incredibly is a granddaddy by now, lost only marginally, should be a badge of honour.
WTF Visti? Is Meegis mom caulk-blocking you that you're so uptight?
BTW, sorry about that tire debacle...I was really hoping that he would have come through better than that.

I just didnt like the tone of the whole thing. If you read my post... I said I dont care that the Audi lost and the Lexus won. The whole production seemsed very untechnical. The guy was chattying away, looking at the camera when doing the so called test laps. And the fottage they did show of him driving didnt appear to be very good. My comment was more on the show and not the test. And yes, it is subjective. Here is something objective... the Lexus only comes in Auto. For that reason alone it should loose. Perhaps tehy should do a ISF VS an E63
PS the Lexus is still fugly.<ul><li><a href="http://www.revver.com/video/490395/2008-audi-rs4-vs-2009-lexus-is-f/">hSomething more my taste. The very end pretty much sums it up...</a></li></ul>

I've driven the IS250 and it's a nice car. If Lexus took Audi's approach to making their top model a subtle upgrade on the base car, the it'd be a winner.
But I can't stand the way it looks.
The guy who allowed that design to make production should be taken out back and shot, then have his testicles removed and used to fill the gap between the bumper and the fake fugly exhausts.

I like the RS4 much better though, not a big surprise considering this is an audi board :-)

Fair enough, you're commenting on the merits and production of the TV show and the driver/ host, rather than the car itself. My bad.
Hey, here's an idea. While we're here debating CARS, why don't you go debate the style and production of the show on www.imafvckingwebtvcriticforums.com
And, read my e-lips: I'M NOT F'IN BEING TOUCHY.

notwithstanding the silly fake tail-pipes.
What is so wrong with it? Or is it Audi snobbery at it's best?

From some angles it looks simple terrible and from others even worse.
Add into that the fake scoopery in the form of hideous fender vents aft of the front wheels. Then finish it off with the fake tail pipe treatment.
I like the way the IS250/350 looks, why O why did they have to do THAT to those nice cars?
It's in person looks don't do anything to change my mind either.

You stated "Hey, here's an idea. While we're here debating CARS, why don't you go debate the style and production of the show "
If you look closely at this very complex thread you will notice I was the first to reply to a post where the person was not directly debating cars, thus your comment using the words "we're" and "debate" is pointless. Upon further inspection of the original post I believe xorsow have a fairly subjective comement involving large amounts of cheese beling doled out.

The RS4 rides on a platform that goes back to 2002 along with a few tweaks here and there of course, and the Lexus only manages to beat the RS4 in every test by a fraction of a second? I wouldn't call it an outright victory for the IS-F.
Not bad I say for the RS4, it can still keep up with the newer cars today assuming that both have a very skilled driver behind the wheel.

420HP 317ft/lbs RS4 and 460hp (I think) and 371ft/lb.

I guess if the Lexus was put on a big fast track, the difference would be larger.

<center><img src="http://www.dragtimes.com/images/11134-2006-Lexus-IS350.jpg"></center><p>...but I guess they had to make room for the V8 and increase brake cooling. There are no excuses for the exhaust tips.
When the RS4 came out, it beat the M3 handily. The new M3, and now the IS-F, are turning the tables. I'm sure a new RS4, or even the upcoming B8 S4 with it's new handling dynamics will change things again. Ultimately, we the consumers are the winners.
