They measured the tire performance objectively and subjectively. The S Drive is a terrible tire and a complete waste of money.

Go ahead, ignore the experts, you may like them. Someone obviously does, at Yokohama, but the numbers don't lie.

Lap times were 98% of the best tire tested which was a Goodyear F1 asymmetric, Subjectively they were last of 9 tires. Wet laps they were 88% of the best. WEt lateral G was 83 % of the best.

Wet braking they were an appalling 75% of the best, this means it took 12 meters longer to slow to 5 mph from 55 mph (90 km/hr)....12 METERS is two car lengths which is a hopeless performance. Dry braking they were 93% of the best performing tire.

The only category they excelled in was low rolling resistance. If maximum fuel economy and only average dry grip are your priorities then by all means buy a set. If you do then don't drive in the rain.

This was blind testing with identical tires and the same driver. This is as good as tire testing gets. Save your money and buy anything rather than Yoko S Drives, they are garbage. Heck even Kuhmo (Ecsta STP KU31)tires are better and way cheaper. Even DUNLOPS ( Sport Maxx) outperformed the Yokos and Dunlop often makes very poor tires. At least Dunlops are good value.
