I took my A4tq for its first servicing, anticipating no problems. I had three minor gripes: brake squeal (I know, endemic to the breed), very occasional burning rubber smell (cosmoline on a hot hose?) and a too-fast clock.<p>The results: new front brake rotors and pads, a new valve gasket, and a new instrument cluster. It was all free, of course, but I'm a bit unnerved by all the problems. Can anyone out there tell me if they have experienced similar brake and gasket problems, and if they recurred? I know from the archives that gaskets have been a problem , but does one replacement usually do the trick?

But I wonder how many people would jump at having a dealer like yours that actually went for the root of the problem, rather than try to band-aid or ignore those same problems (Oh... they all do that!). :)
