Looks so much better, it's more rigid, I assume it weighs less because it doesn't require as much bracing (I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong). It's not as Girly.

Now, if I lived in Hawaii or California, I would love a convertible. There's absolutely nothing that can compare with movement, wind and nice weather (doesn't have to have sun, driving at night with the top down is even better with the moon).

Weighs more than 3600 lbs!!! Another Audi light weight. My A4 weighs a lot less and I can seat 5 for crying out loud.

since I think the VR6 still has an iron block, a few more pounds via the convertible top isn't going to matter anyway. Top down and smell the roses.

If speed is your thing, get the 2.0T in a coupe. No, it won't offer as hedonistic an experience as the VR6 drop-top, but then you're priorities are more likely to be focused on going fast. On the other hand, as sacriligious as it sounds, if handling and performance are really top priority, then a Cayman is probably a better choice.

So it all boils down to what you value when you drive. There is no answer that applies to everyone.

with reasonable performance. Most TTs will spend their lives commuting from one place to another at roughly the speed limit. Given this assumption, I'd like to enjoy the commute as much as I could. I think the few summer days when you can drop the top would the worth the decreased stiffness and extra weight of the top.

...and it's nice to have the emergency back seat. And this car doesn't need to be any heavier. And the roofline is just so gorgeous...
