I Am tierd of applying wax by hand so wanted to get a polisher.

I was thinking of the simoniz 10" random orbit polisher.

What should I be looking for when getting a polisher:
rotation speed; faster = better ?
size; bigger = better ?

My dad has a porter cable variable speed but I hate using it as it is VERY VERY LOUD!

if you are inexperienced using a orbit polisher you will leave smir swerls everywhere. When looked at on an angle your car will look messed up lol. Just make sure you move evenly type thing not pressing too hard and such...

a swirl mark remover, that would be applied using the random orbital buffer and a specific pad for its intended use.

polishers are used when applying compounds, glazes and some sealants.

I strongly suggest you visit the detailing forum here on AW and then read up on Troys car care nirvana, it makes for some interesting reading and gives you a pretty good overview of whats what.

if you need specific instructions on how to use the buffer, let me know, there are plenty of articles on the subject.

http://www.audiworld.com/tech/ext51.shtml</a
