Friday I received a letter in the mail from Audi of America, enclosing a cheque in the amount of $318.98 to refund my out of pocket costs (rentals and service items not warranted) during my 24 day engine replacement saga, as well as words of apology for the entire experience.

My car is running strong and will soon be getting a new exhaust system installed (Vibrant Performance) the second I can get some time to visit Bryan's shop.

The word on the old engine was that the No. plug was cross threaded when it was installed, it broke, causing a backfire in the engine, which, in turn, caused the No.6 Piston to have improper relations with the Valves of the No.6 Cylinder. The end result saw my motor chew itself into a Twin Turbo 0 hp paper weight. I dunno if this is the real deal, or just guessing on the dealer's part, but I am satisfied with their answer.
