Hey guys. I'd like to take good care of my car this winter. I've hear people saying to wash the car once a week, and for me during winter I only have access to the normal carwash. I've heard carwash shampoo is too strong and will remove wax on car.

How do you guys clean your cars on winter? Does anyone in montreal know a good hand carwash?

Thanks

My washing bucket is one of those commercial plastic food containers with the sealable top which I fill up at home. I first use the hand wand on "Rinse" to clear away the worst of the crud. Then the bucket and sheep skin mitt followed by another rinse. I also wax at least a couple times during winter during the dead times at the carwash, usually a warm weekday night.

I don't buy into the popular theory that you should a only use hand wash mitt. Decide for yourself but expect lectures on the evils of hands wands (or for that matter, any car wash) if you ask for advice on the Detailing Forum.
