What do people think my car is worth?

2k S4 (laser red) 6 sp. 2 year (actually 22 month) cpo warranty with 95,000 km avail.

Car has just under 65k km on the clock.

Engine has been completely replaced (under warranty) with a new Unit from Audi, includes new timing belt, waterpumps and two new turbos ($30k in parts alone)

The new engine has but 30km on it.

Considering my most recent phone calls with Audi re. the problem I had (and the now elapsed 24 days of downtime) and the total unwillingness of the jerkoffs on the other end of the Audi Customer (must be a joke) serivce line to discuss my concerns. I think I want out of Audi. Sad that after having Audis in the family since 1985 [4000S, 100 Quattro, A4 1.8t quattro (B5), A4 1.8t Quattro (B6) A6 S-line 2.7t quattro (C5) and my current S4 quattro (B5)], that Audi would treat me as they have.

So what she worth? Anyone interested? Serious offers will be considered.

Thanks,

Jerry D

Don't get me wrong, I love the car, but Audi has pissed me off. Some will say I should be happy with a brand new engine under warranty.

I say, the problem was avoidable, the cost to the warranty company is not my problem. The 24 days of downtime and the associated costs are (rentals etc.) where is Audi to stand up for their product and protect their customer?

say - sleep on it? I mean you are getting a brand new engine. Maybe you should think it over some more. It is a great car.

I've looked into buying an S4, but the horror stories kept me away (I'm hoping my A4 will be slightly more dependable). However if I knew that the S4 would have a brand new engine I would've most probably bought it.

Remember this process has been a long time brewing.

The best suggestion Audi's call centre had for me (before they hastily retracted the statement) was for me to report Audi to my local better business bureau.

All I asked them to do was to refrain from charging me $300 for the labour and parts involved in installing new spark-plugs into the $30k engine they just replaced.

However, explaining anything to the jokers at the call centre is futile.

... The car now has a newer motor in it than the car you bought. That is added value to you. Also, you still have CPO until 120000km. This is worth something.

You did buy a used car so you have no idea what the previous owner did but thats the benefit of CPO, to cover you against the previous owner.

I've followed your sauga from purchase and to be honest, I would never have bought that car in the first place from that dealer. The car is/was cursed to begin with.

I always tell people, when asked how I like my car, that its a love hate relationship. It costs alot of money to maintain an Audi and Audi is not the best for customer relations. Yet there is no other car that has taken me to more places at the limits than my Audi and I can't think of any other car that can do this.

... but always see posts of people who moved away from Audi because of a significant one-time problem and most comes back saying how they miss the Audi.

Your car just seemed to have been cursed from day one, and do echo the point that who knows how the original owner, or even the dealer, treated the car.

I wouldn't have bought it either, new engine notwithstanding. Hopefully Audi does something in terms of having a meaningful discussing with me today. To appease my concerns re. this vehicle.

As others have said -- give it a few months, and see if you still feel the same way.

I had an exhaust valve fail under warranty on my brand-new A4; Audi took weeks to fix and jerked me around on everything -- rental, tow charges... I swore I would sell the car and never deal with Audi again. That was 4 years ago, and I still love the A4.
