The shifting on the dsg is terrific. No delays, great rev equalization (auto-blips throttle) on downshifts. Very crisp on upshifts.

The only car I've driven with a similar transmission is a 355 w/F1. I hated the F1 transmission, it felt delayed through the shifts & just didn't seem to be as effective as manual shifts. The DSG is very crisp & very smooth.

Interior quality is what we've all come to expect.

Car wasn't a quattro, no torque steer & the new revised ESP is terrific...not a retarding feeling as it has been in the past.

That's all folks!

He didn't like the transmission in the 355 either but loved the DSG in the A3. Glad to hear of somebody else's perspective... still need to try it out.

This whole torque steer thing, there are two groups - one group doesn't feel anything and another that does. I'm thinking that there really isn't any torque steer at all as one reviewer had it in second gear, took his hands off the wheel then floored it and the car tracked straight....

Audis with transverse-mounted engines will continue to use the Haldex system of course - the TT and A3. Ones with longitudinal-mounted engines like the A4/A6/A8 will eventually get the 40/60 torsen system I think in 2007. Not sure if the new B7 S4 has it now or next year.
