What:
Southern Vancouver Island Audi Meet and cruise to Port Renfrew
When:
Saturday, March 18th
Where:
Cruise begins in Sidney at the Chevron/MaDonalds on Beacon St. (the main Sidney drag off the Pat Bay Hwy)
Departure Time:
Participants depart for Port Renfrew at 11am - Mainlanders, I suggest a 9am ferry sailing.
What to bring:
Your Audi and a (big help!) FRS radio
Route:
Hwy 17 to McTavish Rd.
McTavish Rd. to West Sannich Rd.
West Sannich Road to Prospect Lake Rd.
Prospect Lake Road to Burnside Rd. West
Burnside Rd. West to Old Island Hwy/Sooke Rd.
Sooke Rd. to Port Renfrew
Conditions:
With a few very short sections, this entire drive will occur on single lane roads, i.e.) one lane one away and another lane the other. Safe passing areas will be few and far between on many sections of the drive. Once past Sooke the road can become VERY narrow (very suddenly) and at various places you will be required to cross single lane bridges, i.e.) one-car-at-a-time style. Wildlife hazards (dear and bear) on the Sooke / Port Renfrew stretch can be expected. The road surface during all sections of the drive is good to acceptable, i.e.) lowered cars should be fine.
