They've only gone through one winter & summer so far, but nothing is corroded which is great...

the black remaining crap is actually dry graphite (I brushed most of it off before this pic). I was trying to think of something that would protect them through the winter, and at the same time not collect crud (like regular lubes)that gets thrown on to them.
The nice thing too is that you can rub it off completely, and it looks new underneath. (one friend sprayed 'rust gaurd' on his, which ate away the anodizing... ...and you can guess what happened to them after that...)
This is what they look like when fully coated (nice and think!)

final note: I tend to give them a quick spray if I'm at the car wash from time to time... ...and that didn't wash away the graphite either :)
