I was at Downtown Fine Cars getting a small repair done today, and my sales guy had just come back from an Audi briefing, which included:

1) No RS6 or allroad 4.2 for Canada (both are going to the US only).

2) New A8 coming in June, with detailed ordering a month or two before.

Let's review:

Audi's recent track record in Canada:

* No S4 Avant (U.S. gets it)
* No HID option on all Canadian S4s (U.S. gets it - we're not worth a redesign)
* Weird stick-on "tumour" bumper things on Canadian TTs
* No RS6 for '03 (U.S. gets it)
* Limited individualization options

Just for comparison, recent BMW track record in Canada:

* 45 100% Euro-spec E36 M3 coupes in '94 (U.S. doesn't get E36 M3 until '95)
* 32 '95 E34 M540i sedans - 14" rotors, 4-pots, carbon interior (NONE for U.S.)
* Very cool M-Sport packages for '01+ 530i/540i and 330Ci coupes (NO U.S.)
* Full access to the BMW Individual program (NONE for U.S.)

BMW has a track record of going out of their way to give Canada the
good stuff. I'm forced to conclude they like us better than Audi does,
which is a shame because I'd rather drive an Audi.

on the bright side, the S4 will still be the fastest Audi ever brought to Canada... :-)
