That figure probably varies from company to company. Also, coverage is only extended to mods that are still within the acceptable limits of safety as determined by the manufacturer of the vehicle. As an example, he said that drastically lowering the car will often void insurance, but a slight reduction of say 1" may not, that all depends on Audi. So I said, what if Audi does the install of an after market suspension?.. He said if that was the case, there should be no issues. So, it is my assumption that if you have a chip and they discover that you were chipped after an accident, you could be f--ked. So alot of guys out there with chips and got their cars slammed to the ground, are driving around with no collision at all; so they might as well call and cancel the collision and just keep liability. It just goes to show you, one must be as careful with modding and warranty as it is with insurance. If it voids your warranty, it probably voids your collision insurance.
