I'm picking up my "new-to-me" 99.5 1.8T Tiptronic and was wondering what chips people have installed and where did you get the chips done? (Good experiences?)

I haven't, my luck is that I'll kill the turbo with a chip and the dealer is gonna void my warranty. Guy here has a 98 tip with a GIAC.

I have a 98 Tip with a Wetterauer chip obtained from Autobraun Distributors in Edmonton. I sent the ECU out Tuesday morning and it was back by Thursday night. Didn't matter much as I have a spare ECU. As for the chip - It's great.

... you can get Neuspeed from RMRAutosport in Montreal, GIAC from TracRacing in Montreal. There are local shops around Toronto for GIAC.
