I don't understand why the mercs and BMW's outsell the Audi's, especially in Canada.<ul><li><a href="http://www.canadiandriver.com/previews/04a8.htm">A8 preview</a></li></ul>

1. brand recognition - the 7 series/S class buyer is not looking for performance or value, just brand recognition and luxury features

2. the previous A8 was the most boring in it's class, the new one stands a chance :)

I've only known one person to express an interest in the A8 and some people know the S8 from the movie "Ronin". Otherwise most not-in-the-know people say "A - what?". I agree with the article - not enough marketing presence to outdo the BMW or Mercedes cars.

Hopefully the new A8 will change all that.
