View Full Version : OK, Mat Reid came over and determined that it's a chip issue. Is there anyone at Induktion with whom

I can drop off my ECU?

I have a rental car through Sunday; otherwise I'd just bring it up to the shop on Monday.

So: I'm willing to drive anywhere to drop this off with you.

Please post up or give me a call: 917-538-7622.

Thanks!

would be by Tuesday.

My preference is to get it to you by Monday, since I really do need my car running ASAP.

If you don't mind... like I said, I'm willing to drive anywhere today or tomorrow. Can I drop it off at your house?

Or somewhere where you could retrieve it on Monday?

This chip didn't <<just>> go bad. It's been bad over the past 2 years. I just didn't put my finger on it.

Remember last year when we couldn't start my car at the shop? I suspected the coolant temp sensor at the time and we talked briefly about other possible causes.

Or, would Reggie's work? His is an '01 or 01.5 IIRC. It would be easy to swap ECU's first.

Ed, I'd suggest socketing his stock chip, so we could try to isolate the problem.....if it still happens with his stock chip, then we could safely say the ECU is toast. If it works, then just take the ECU, or the car, flash it, and everyone's happy. ;-)

i remember your problem last year, but also remember checking to make sure you had a check engine light while you were cranking it and you did. I dont think the 2 issues are related. Anyway, I'll email you my cell # and we can figure something out.

fix anything. I disassembled the relay too, it didn't look perfect, had a burnt spot on the housing. It wasn't failing though, when the CEL wasn't on.
