I probably will refrain from mentioning names here until a friends situation gets resolved.
Recently he purchased a "power chip" for his A4 1.8 non-turbo.
He has noticed no difference.
Today he had it dyno tuned, The I replaced the Powerchip with the original chip, dyno'd again.
Guess what? Absolutely no difference what so ever.
The last word from the supplier he will to a custom made chip just to suit his car, hmmm.
I have read somewhere on a Audi enthusists site some time ago to beware of this particular brand of chip.
One other Audi club member purchased one of these some time ago for his 1.8T, again no difference,
he could not get his money back, he put it to a bad experience and purchased the Wetterauer chip and was happy.
Another Audi A3 1.8T owner also purchaed one, he did notice a difference, however besides the chip a Turbo bleed valve was installed, this enabled the ECU to get a 0.5 bar reading when the turbo was actually producing above 10psi, very dodgy IMHO. This bleed valve alone whould have given the Extra HP on its own.
So beware and buy a chip that has satisfied customer base for your car.
