Hey--
Thanks for posting that picture. Glad to have the mystery of what the other tool is for solved. I suspect it probably works on the black plugs that used to come with the 16" 7-spokers as well as on whatever is used with the 15" wheels.
The dealer is ordering a tweezer for me on Audi. They say the tire looks fine to them as well.

My father is paying $10,000 dollars to have the driveway at his house ripped up and have a new one laid down with heating elements underneath so he can wash his cars ('76 911, '98 A4, '63 Stingray) in the dead of winter without having to fear slipping on ice. Is he nuts? That is alot of money to spend just to wash cars, two of which never see any road time after the first snow storm (and road salting) of the winter. I told him to let me borrow the $10K so i can buy my A4 outright and not have to deal with financing. IS HE NUTS?????????????

Although thats a lot of initial $$ I have often longed for a heated driveway. Hey. they want $30 to plow every time it snows 3 in. Then if it continues to snow another 3 they get another $30. Probably for $10 of electricity I could get the snow and ice off while not having the frost heaving problem that breaks up the drive. The washing of the cars is a definite plus course I do that anyhow hence the heaved up driveway in front of the garage. The other thing is when the plows come up the drive they miss alot and go out rooting in the grass. Believe me there is more bad things about plowing but this is too long already.
but you may be if you just expect him to loan you 10 large for your A4! Handle the deal yourself and quit trying to make withdrawals from The Bank of Mom and Dad. I think your pop sounds like a cool guy. And you can wash your A4s together in January on that heated driveway for a little father-son bonding!
