BMW 323i:
Headroom - front (in.) 38.4
Headroom - rear (in.) 37.5
Legroom - front (in.) 41.4
Legroom - rear (in.) 34.6
Shoulder Room - front (in.) 54.4
Shoulder Room - rear (in.) 54.2
EPA Passenger Volume (cu. ft.) 91
EPA Cargo Volume (cu. ft.) 11

Audi A4: (1.8T and 2.8 are the same)
Headroom - front (in.) 38.2
Headroom - rear (in.) 36.9
Legroom - front (in.) 41.3
Legroom - rear (in.) 33.4
Shoulder Room - front (in.) 54.7
Shoulder Room - rear (in.) 53.4
EPA Passenger Volume (cu. ft.) 88
EPA Cargo Volume (cu. ft.) 14

As you can see, the difference is very minimal. I don't think one can state that the 323i is an "A4 killer" when it comes to interior space. The 323i actually has less cargo volume.

at the trunk space when him took them for a ride in my A4.

At 6 feet tall, he found the leg room in the back to be fine. His concern was headroom in the back...causing him to notice the rear reading lights that are available only on an Audi.

I brought my 99.5 1.8tq in for its 5k service today and once again was glad I read audiworld.com. While the mechanic was filling my car with oil I asked him what the capacity was. He stated that it was 4.7 qts. I told him I thought it was 3.7. He preceeded to put 4.7 qts in. I knew he was wrong but I wanted to see if he would double check. Once he was done he walked out to where I was standing and told me he was wrong. He said that he was thinking of the TT which he claimes does take 4.7. Is that true? He drained it back and wasted a quart of Mobil 1. Would have been great if I hadn't said anything.

I asked the service manager if he could reprogram my locks. He stated that AoA has sent out a bulletin advising dealerships not to perform this service. Has anyone heard of this?

To say the least, I was not impressed with this experience. As I was leaving, the service rep explained that Audi would call me and that if I give them a 4 rating they only get a failing grade of 50 points. I told him that a failing grade is correct for an oil over fill.

I just took my car in for 5k service, too. Not too many issues, but they found a leaking water pump and had to back order that and a rear speaker replacement. Should be around 7 days, so they gave me a new M-B C230 to drive around till I get my car back. M-B is a fine car, but I really like the Audi better. Is water pump leaking this early common on A4? BTW-service advisor also said 4.7 qts of Mobil 1 for my car. Haven't checked manual yet, but I will check dipstick before I drive it.
