The engine oil drain plug on my 1.8tqm is stripped, probably because I've done some of the oil changes myself, without having the exactly correct socket. In addition, the dealer seems to over-tighten the plug when they change the oil.

Does anyone know the proper metric socket size that fits the plug? Is a 6 sided or 12 sided socket better? I'm going to buy a new plug today and get a socket to go with it.

...I just changed it 1.5 weeks ago...I should know this. Lets see, 17mm for the wheel lugbolts. Yeah, 19mm for the oil drain plug.
