Control arm. The word means what it says. When it fails, you WILL lose control of your vehicle. The noise is a symptom of impending failure. Wait too long and it will.
I was able to push the bushing with my finger (when it was uninstalled) on one of my many failed sets and it just popped out! Hello! That IS NOT supposed to happen.
If I had driven on them a day lonegr I could have met with serious consequences.
The dealer wanted $2600 to fix it. Of course, I had an independent do the job and was shown first hand how bad they were. When I was messing with it and one of the bushings just popped out we all looked at eachother aghast. "Oh my God!"
Tell me THAT isn't a safety issue.
