Hey everybody,

I got rear ended today by a hyundai accent while I was sitting at a red light. His car is totalled. My car got pushed into the car in front of me. Although drivable the check engine light is on and the exhaust is crushed in addition to the bumpers, and rear hatch. Everybody was ok. But I am sad, My car didn't have a scratch on it since purchase and I have little faith in the quality of body shops. If anybody has any recommendations of detail oriented body shops that you have experience with between baltimore and DC I would greatly appreciate it. I live in the columbia/elkridge area. I'll get pictures up soon. I needed to vent

Thanks as usual for the help.

...but very glad to hear that you're okay. I've NO experience with any body shops personally, but I'm sure the folks here will chime in and hook you up.

just a lot of very good things I've heard about them from many different people. try doing a search about them on forums and see what people think. They are supposedly the most expensive and have a really long wait, but supposed to be worth it. good luck, by the way, thats the best looking allroad I've ever seen, very nice, I'm sure whoever you take it to will get it back looking new!

They repaired over $10k in damage to my Avant earlier this year. I am friends with the owner and a couple employees so I constantly was stopping by to see the progress, and the way these guys repair cars you'd think they were assembling them on the factory line. My car doesn't look like it was ever touched (well, until I was rearended at low speed in October).

they do very nice work. I was very satisfied with the paint/install on my S4 rear bumper. they come highly recommended by Rockville Audi. Ask for Greg. He's cool and a VW nut.

sorry to hear about your troubles, i can imagine what it must be like.

good luck....arun.

6 miles west from Tysons Corner. I drive by there everyday and often see Porsches, Audis, Bimmers, Vipers and ect...

Considered the top shop in the area according to industry reviews... Since this damage is covered by the other persons insurance, I'd suggest taking it to the best out there. WagonWorks is a professional when it comes to dealing (read: arguing) with insurance companies to make sure that everything damaged on your car is replaced.

You're also covered by rental car obviously, so just drive it down and have the rental car until it's done. BTW, I suggest you swap your stock allroad wheels on instead of the 19's, easier to work with, unless they were damaged, in which case leave them on.

I really appreciate all the concern and help. I think I'll try out Wagonworks for now, and go from there.

I hope that it is not an issue that it is out of state?

....they did a lousy job paint matching my alpaka beige, filled the radiator with green stuff, forgot to replace insulation and misc. engine trim pieces. didn't remove overspray and who knows what else they forgot to do.

They "ordered" the appropriate stickers for under the hood a year ago and never followed up ith me.

I'd avoid them like the plague. They are probably OK for painting a lone bumper or spoiler, but I wouldn't trust them for more than that
