Hey everyone, I just purchased a 99 A4 2.8 this past weekend and my stock audio comes with a cassette player only =(
i would like to upgrade to either a CD changer or the new Kenwood data/mps changer. Can anyone recommend any ideas and speakers upgrades? I would like to maintain the stock Dash look, that is why i decided on either the CC changer or Kenwood Unit.
Is is Bose system from Audi worth it? I'm very disappointed @ my factory audio system and i'm looking for ways to improve it. Can someone please take the time and recommend me options. thanks for your time guys

you can drop 200-2000 on a stereo easily. Bose speakers suck... but if you do upgrade, you'll be replacing everything... headunit, speakers, amps, etc.. and you may as well do new wiring as well then. I just installed a Blaupunkt CD player with MB Quart Q Series and Boston Acoustics for about $150 total in my old Audi 90. So it is possible.
Where in the Mid-Atlantic area are you?

i'm Marvin and i'm located in Baltimore, MD
I'm soo excited with my A4 quattro, i previously owned a turbo integra and its 2 completely different sensation behind the wheel.
I have a lot to learn about Audi's...haha i'll get there.
can you recommend me a shop or somewhere to install my audio system. I'm still a beginner when it comes to audio stuff.
i would like to upgrade speakers "rear", buy a 2 channel amp to power them, and lastly either a CD changer or Kenwood MP3 conveter or that Neo Jukbox.
Can you recommend a specific setup that you think will work with the audi's i want to maintain the factoy HU to keep it stock looking. If you can recommend me something, i can start looking up prices online.
my budget is
Cd changer/Kenwood/Neo Jubox = $300-400
rear Speakers "100-150" 3 or 4 ways
Amp 200-300"
that is just a rough estimate as how much i would like to spend.
thanks for your time
marvin

If you insist on keeping the stock headunit... you can get an line-out adapter to feed signal to an amp. Will you be getting a subwoofer as well? Do some general searches here on AW and come to one of the Capital Audi meets., plenty of people have done various stereo upgrades and can show you some examples.
