Hey all!!
I have organized an Audi Trivia Road Rally and OktoBEERfest/GTG for Saturday, October 26 that will run through 48 scenic miles of Chester County, PA.
The starting point is at the Hunting Hill Mansion (park office) in the center of Ridley Creek State Park just 15 miles west of downtown Philadelphia. The mansion area is a picturesque spot nestled amongst woods and rolling hills with horse stables nearby and wild deer roaming the entire park.
The meet time will be at 12:00 Noon with the rally start time beginning at approximately 1:00PM.
The Trivia part of the rally is approximately twelve questions that must be answered from clues that are found along the route.
Although it is not required, it is highly advised that drivers have a "navigator" as a passenger. The Trivia and instructions may be too distracting for the driver while he/she is piloting the car.
There will also be two DST segments (distance/speed/time segments). The first DST will be a gauge check while the second will be a Blind DST (in the blind segment the drivers are unaware they are being clocked).
** Remember the rally is run on public roads and the DST's are held within the posted speed limits. The whole rally, including the DST's, is NOT a speed race, rather it is intended to be a fun game/test of the skills and abilities of the team and their car. **
The team (driver and navigator) with the best DST and with the most correct trivia answers will be the winner. The winning team will be announced at the OktoBEERfest/GTG that will be held at Victory Brew Pub and Restaurant.
If you don't want to participate in the rally but want to come to the OktoBEERfest/GTG then plan on coming to Victroy Brew Pub and Restaurant by 4:00PM. There is no limit to those of you who want to come to the OktoBEERfest/GTG after the rally. It is a very large friendly restaurant that serves a wide variety of food for the entire family and they have an unlimited supply of beer - they make it there!
Finally, there is a limit of 25 cars that can participate in the rally. So... if you're interested in participating in the rally, you will need to register with me at the e-mail address listed at the end of this post by October 25 at 6PM. I need to have a count of all drivers and their cars by October 20 so that final preparations can be made.
I hope to see you all there!
Best,
Theo
