Hey all!!!
I'm 90% done with the preliminary set-up for the Road Rally. I have to check on the start point again and one 2 mile leg of the course before I can disclose all the details.
But for now...
There will be a Trivia Road Rally on Saturday, October 26 that will run through 48 scenic miles of Chester County, PA (The starting point is 15 miles west of downtown Philadelphia). The meet time will be approximately 1:00 PM with the rally start time beginning at approximately 2:00PM.
The Trivia will be approximately twelve questions that must be answered from clues along the route. There will also be two DST segments (distance/speed/time segments) which will include a "blind" DST (the "blind" segment takes place where the drivers are unaware they are being clocked).
<<Remember the rally is run on public roads and the DST's are held within the posted speed limits. They are NOT speed races, rather they are a test of the skill and accuracy of the driver and car.>>
The team (driver and navigator) with the best DST and with the most correct trivia answers will be the winner. The team winner will be announced at the OktoBEERfest GTG that will begin at approximately 5:00PM at a local brew pub and family restauraunt (I will post these and all the details later this weekend).
Finally, there is a limit of 25 cars that can participate in the rally. So... if you're interested in participating in the rally, you will need to RSVP by October 20 at Midnight. I need to have a count of all drivers and their cars by October 20 so that final preparations can be made. There will be a post specifically set up for this purpose that will be posted this weekend (10/13).
There is no limit to those of you who want to come to the OktoBEERfest/GTG after the rally. It is a very large friendly restaurant that serves a wide variety of food for the entire family and they have an unlimited supply of beer - they make it there!
