I went to the Mary J. Blige and Jay Z concert it was like I had stepped back in time. It was the last night of their tour and it was completely sold out. Our seats were incredible, first section right in front of the stage on the floor. The energy in the place was incredible, and the crowd was SOO diverce! From Chinese, jews, hippies, blacks, whites, Spanish, and alll age groups. I swear there was a fourty-something year old Greenwich mother there sing EVERY SINGLE lyric to Jay Z! lol.. it was hilarious! Beyonce poped in on a Jay Z track which was really cute. Jay Z watched her with admiration while Beyonce kept looking at him with this smile of amazement. Method Man was there to do an intro w/ Mary with "You're All I Need." Jay Z played a LOT of his old stuff and to me it was kind of like going back in time... (you guys may not be able to relate) Mary J was out of this world! I have been a HUGE fan of hers for 15 years and just to see her, THAT CLOSE, and to hear her sing the way she did was so really moving! Jay and Mary opened the night with playing "Can't Knock the Hustle" and it just kept getting better!!
I went there looking forward to hearing Mary J Blige, because I find most of Jay Zs stuff these day to commercial and ordinary, but I left there feeling young again and vibrant. Really a fabulous night.
