1998.5 2.8 30v Q 5spd
I've posted twice, E-Mailed all the usual Dealers, scanned all the mags and my car still has the stock cams. The car crys out for more top end. Anyone have any ideas.
GK

...adding lift, duration and overlap will just make the car run crappy. You gotta get into the fuel and ignition maps, which means a whole diffent computer, programmed with parameters compatible with your new cam profiles....all of which means that there's a reason why nobody is responding to you - There ain't a lotta stuff out there. Shrick (sp?) and some other overseas suppliers might have cams for the 30V, but to get any real bang for the buck you need a whole engine kit (higher-C pistons, head work, etc. etc. etc.).
Motor top end work is expensive. Give up all hope of a quickie $400-$600 cam swap giving you what you want. You need top end work and deep pockets.
See ? You should have bought a turbo car.
If you really insist on regrinding your cams, try Crane or Lunati - both have had VW products in their line before, and may have profiles that would work with your 30V.
Cam Bodia
