What else would I need on a nice sunny day but to get news that my mom had slipped, fell and broke a rib? If that wasn't enough, on the drive home from work, car stuttered as I accelerated onto 78W from the on-ramp.
Didn't think much of it as car seemed fine after that, but about 20 mins later, happened again, except this time, the CEL came on too. Flashed, then stayed solid...

Got home, shut the car down, started it up and CEL was gone. Drove around to test it out and lo and behold, on semi-hard acceleration, car would stutter and CEL flashed and then stayed solid. Any ideas what it might be?
Spark plugs? (They were changed @ 40K.. at 60K now..)
Don't think its the clutch slipping, as the car would also stutter slightly when idling below 1K rpm...
Cat converter?

Thoughts? =(

Get a few spares from the delaership and you can replace it yourself. Get ready to play musical coilpacks, the funnest game ever. See attached DIY writeup

http://forums.audiworld.com/a4gen2/msgs/1003672.phtml</a

Drove over to Autozone for their free CEL check. Code = Misfire cylinder 3. Friend of a friend actually had a spare coilpack, swapped it out (and replaced all 4 spark plugs since I had them out) and car runs like a champ again. Used Platinum sparkplugs instead of copper.. Should be ok?

Thanks again guys!

Driving to work today was fine until 78W near North Branch. Accelerated, car stuttered, then stuttered really bad. Pulled over, battery light came on, then car wouldnt start...
Flatbedded to shop.

This sucks.
