If you want, you can take a car ferry from Cape May to Delaware instead of driving around. It is slower, but your kid would probably enjoy the hour or so ride on the ferry. My father always brought us on that on our drives to VA. Beach or Florida.

Plan is to make a trade with my father-in-law; My 1 year old son for his Carrera for a few days. I think it's a win win.
