Christian,
I have been a subscriber to the monthly Audi calendar images for quite some time now.
My greatest frustration was that the images required Adobe Acrobat for viewing. For whatever reason, I couldn't figure out how to convert them to a more practical image format.
Now I see you've converted them to JPEGs, which is great! But they seem to have lost a little resolution in the translation -- the lines are a little less sharp, and the color depth has been reduced (see the blue sky w/clouds in the January shot). Can you share with us how you converted the images? Is there a way to retain all the original detail of the originals?
I know I'm picking nits here, but you know how us Audiphiles are so accustomed to aesthetic perfection....
Thanks, Scott

The Audi Calendar -- "Visual Reality '98"

The loss of detail is just a remanent of converting to JPG (since JPG is a lossy format). If you want a clean copy of the pictures do the following.
Open the Virtual Calendar PDF in Adobe Acrobat Viewer
go to tools and choose "select graphics"
go to edit and select all
go to edit and copy
Paste the picture into your favorite graphics package and save in whatever format you want.
Brian T

When I uploaded it to the picture poster, it lost some resolution. Just go to the Virtual Calendar link in the previous post, and download them your selves, then in the Tools menu of Adobe Acrobat, select "select graphics" which gives you a cross hair icon, select the area you want, hit CTRL C for copying it, then paste it in your graphics program. That will retain the nice quality that didn't make it to the A4 forum.
If you don't have any of these programs, email me and I will send them to you.
Christian

As you can see by this pic, Audi has addressed yet another complaint with the A4; that wives are constantly yelling at their husbands to slow down! So Audi has this new matrimony model that, as you can see by the picture above, has 2 sets of controls and 2 steering wheels.
Actually, you can't see what I am talking about very well, so go to the Virtual calendar link in one of the above posts, and you will get a better picture that shows this car with 2 drivers!
Christian J. When I go to the Calendar PDF from my IE 4.01 browser and click one of the months, it fires up the Acrobat viewer. But the image appears in my browser window; there's nothing in my Acrobat window. So the Tools menu in Acrobat is disabled.
What am I doing wrong? Help!!!
P.S. I *hate* Acrobat -- always found it so counter-intuitive. I think its ease-of-use sucks. Do I have to buy some kind of book just to use it...maybe there's an "Adobe Acrobat for Dummies" I can get. ;-)
