I just saw at clair that extra cartridges for the Alpine changer are $55! Anyone know of
a cheaper one? Can you use stock Alpine cartridges without problems?
Thanks to everyone who helped me with the shipping screw issue, turns out I got my changer without the shipping screws installed, so I was hunting for a red herring.
Brian T
97 1.8TQ AT Sport
I copied this from an old forum (many months ago, I keep a file of potentially useful info), although I haven't looked into whether these cartridges are indeed compatable or not - if you buy any and they work, let us know:
"I located a car audio company who carries the cartridge for the 96-97 A4 Alpine CD changer
(Delta system not Concert). They sound pretty knowledgeable and nice on the phone. The price
is $21.95 plus shipping. Although I bought my CD from Clair I didn't get this extra cartdrige
because they were asking around $50.00 for it.
Here is their address :
http://www.cartunes.com
The helpful guy's name is Jeff"

Your local authorized alpine dealer should have no problem getting them for you...alpine still sell thems for about $25 (retail)....of course they won't be "audi" cartridges..but who the hell cares if it is half the price?!?!
David White
98 2.8qm
