Todd N 12-06-1999, 08:24 AM I am experiencing a loose drivers seat in the 99.5 A4 2.8 Quattro. It's the power sport seats. Dealer says they can't figure it out, is there a fix out there? Jae 12-06-1999, 09:29 AM I've got the same problem mine's in the shop now. I hope I don't get that same answer. I also have the power sport seats. 992.8 Q5SPD Brad Bilut 12-06-1999, 09:48 AM Kyle Bailey 12-06-1999, 11:50 AM I got the dreaded "it's within spec" response from the dealer. The only person I know of that's had any luck getting it fixed is Sean G. They supposedly replaced some bushings. FWIW, mine has been that way for about 30K miles now, and it doesn't seem to be getting any worse. Kyle '97 2.8 with power rocking chair. Brad Bilut 12-06-1999, 12:17 PM Sometimes when I apply the brakes, I can feel the seat move forward just a notch. When I hit the gas again, I can feel it slide back into position. The movement is only very slight, but it's enough to feel it. Brad ErikR 12-06-1999, 12:27 PM George H 12-06-1999, 01:02 PM Mine too. Leo P 12-06-1999, 01:26 PM Same here. Dealer just ignored the request to correct. Its annoying. Genuine Pita 12-06-1999, 01:32 PM Al K. 12-06-1999, 03:34 PM My dealer ordered a new seat frame as they couldn't figure out the noise. Of course while waiting for the frame to arrive the sound has now gone away.... Early A4 12-06-1999, 04:05 PM i have this on my 96A4. dealer said this was common on all the A4s/Audis. Plastic bushing in the seat sliding mechanism was said to be the cause. Annoying. Byas Mac 12-06-1999, 05:17 PM The problem probably began 1-2 months after purchase, and has become increasingly noticeable. There is especially a side to side rocking when turning left or right. Since the car is still relatively new (<20 000 km), I will probably wait to see if it worsens. If it needs fixing, I'll take it in to the dealer and go with them for a drive to make sure that the problem is recognized. FWIW, mine is a non-sport 1.8T, therefore not power adjustable. Don't take no for an answer. 1996 a4 2.8 qm Jae 12-07-1999, 09:48 AM An Audi South mechanic just called and said the seat bushings were worn and he was going to replace them. I hope this helps with your seat problem. I also have a fuel leak and they have to replace my fuel tank. The tank is in Germany two weeks to get it. That sucks!!! I miss my car. |
