I love that it's got no alcantera....too gaudy IMHO

Damn and I just got the B7....this would have been a nice choice, though miles are getting up there

As for stock brakes, in all honesty, whats the big deal? The car weighs the same as it did before, and big brakes won't help you stop any sooner. So long as he runs a decent pad, all will be good

WHen you have that much torque in th engine, with that much speed, the load on the brakes is different.. greater.

Then explain to me how a car that weighs 3800 lbs and has 1000 hp and 1000 lb feet of torque has anymore load on the brakes than the same car (3800 lbs) with 250 hp and 250 lbs feet of torque.

Big brakes do not stop your car any shorter - they merely allow you to repeat that action over and over without inducing fade.

The brakes have 2 things to contend with - traction (ie tires and pavement) and weight. Unless you change either of those variables, the force required to stop that car from 60 mph are identical.

And yes...I own big brakes on several cars, so I know the purpose :)

If you use the brake with the car still in gear. The torque the engine has is making it so more force is required to slow the car down.

Now, repeat this process a few times and your stock brakes no longer have the "will" to slow down the car as much as brakes which do not fade as quickly.

the brakes do not have anything to do with engine torque - it slows down a moving object, whcih has a fixed weight. When the car is in gear and you are on the brakes you are presumably not on the throttle...as such, the gear is slowing the car down as well. It is simple physics

torque is a measurement of force required to move an object, not stop it. The only thing that affects stopping a car is weight and traction
