first i'd like to thank everyone involved that made this event happen.

a few suggestions for improving the over all experience next time:

leave earlier - traffic picked up in the afternoon. getting stuck behind 1 slow moving vehicles on those twisty single lanes pretty much wasted a lot of road.

lessen the emphasis on the group staying in a line - at least group3 seemed somewhat obsessed with stopping and regrouping often. have each person keep a lookout for the person in front/behind.

get the cell phone of every person - associate the # with the car. if a car goes missing, you can associate it to a person/cell#.

create check points - if people get lost, we'll just meet again at the next check point. it leaves everyone else free to go at their own pace in between.

group/lineup people based on modifications, driving preferences, or some sort of "how fast can you drive" scale. we're all enthusiasts, but differ in driving methods. there were a few times that it seemed like one person was "holding up" the line.

highlites of the day:
seeing toyguy again. driving over the speed limit thru a few turns. driving like an ass and passing the group by mistake while they made a U-turn. watching people's head turn to look at the long trail of audis. made it back to white plains alive after driving on the taconic like a maniac.

onto the pix:

lead cars should have 2 occupants, driver and a co-driver that is keeping tabs on the route and is on the radio giving the warnings about hazards and can be the person you call if you get lost.

While exhanging numbers isnt a bad idea, it might be a bad idea to have the driver of the lead car on the phone.
