Hey all I am new to this forum and wanted to share my experience with you. I ordered an A3, sports package, open sky system, cold weather package in Oct and it arrived last week. Do not go to Cavender Audi in San Antonio. When I ordered my A3 I told them that I needed to register the vehicle in VA since I am only in S/A temporarily. They called me thurs to tell me that the car arrived and I could pick it up fri. The sales manager called me back and told me I had to register the car in TX because it would take a week to register it in VA and they have to sell it by the end of the year. I worked it out with my bank to get it titled in VA with no help from the dealer. So I go in friday and notice that my name is spelled wrong on the purchase order...quick fix. Then I notice that they jacked up the price $2000 from our agreed upon price. They make two counter offers and I say no. The sales manager starts whining about how they are only going to make $735 if they sale it to me at the agreed upon price. I told him about this forum and they have the opportunity to get a good review and have more customers or get this review and lose money and customers. They choose not to honor their word. BUYER BEWARE!!! If you are in the S/A area drive the extra miles to Austin.
Also I contacted Audi Corporate and I am interested in their feedback.

if so, I think you might be able to sue them

I did put money down that they refunded but did not sign a contract. I thought about the fact that I could get a lawyer and all of that but this is the second audi dealership that I have not had good experiences with. I am going to add a few $$$ and buy BMW next week.

seems like you are at fault also for not documenting
one must consider all dealerships as scum, and act accordingly
what they did could have been expected, but also could have been avoided, even with a letter from them agreeing to the pricing in your possession

Especially since you had no contract. ALWAYS get it in writing BEFORE you order or buy.

One would think that a deposit and the build order detailing the price would be enough since it is in writing. Luckily I don't need the car since I still have my SUV and pick up truck. They were probably counting on backing me into a corner thinking I can't wait any longer a really need a vehicle now at any cost. If I do buy an Audi I will go to Dallas where there are three larger dealerships and get an A4 or A6.

Yeah I know AoA will circle the wagons and protect their own. Maybe if there is enough negative feedback internally over time someone may have a better experience than I. Some of the others forums have negative feed back on this dealership and the local car club pretty much has a consensus on going to Austin even though the dealer is 70 miles away. I get the impression that I got the treatment that I did because it (A3)is their low end car with not much profit. I just like the A3 because it is fun to drive the only option that I added was cold weather since I live in VA. Little did they know that we plan (ed) on purchasing a Q7 this year in June.
