First trip to the dealship and followup conversation was infuriating at MSRP/$500 off. Things have progressed to a more reasonable 5% over invoice, but I would happily go outside of Houston to save a grand if those deals can be had.
I plan on ordering an '04 3.0 CVT with Ultrasport, Premium, Leather, Cold, and Sirius...probably in the silver/black combo again.

...I'm going to sweat the $700 difference.
If they had treated me with the minimal amount of respect and interest, they could have closed the deal at 5% over invoice two weeks ago with a small investment in time. They also had an opportunity to sell me on a pre-owned '02 or new '03 on the lot...but the guys I talked to couldnt sell their way out of a paper bag. If I'm the one doing all the leg work, why pay the dealership a dollar more than I have to when ordering a car?
It truly pisses me off how lazy, inept, and indifferent these order takers are.
If these guys had an ounce of selling skill they would offer up the Audi Loyalty discount, which I believe is $250 for any A4. Thats no money out of their pocket and it would make their offer equavalent to 4% over invoice.

I'm currently dealing with Fazal, who seems to be a nice guy and might just salvage the deal.
I initially tried to deal with Tim through email and over the phone, but got nowhere. I went into the dealership and presented them three distinct avenues to make a sale and they chose none. Talked to the manager (Mike?) who proceeded to do the MSRP song and dance.
I hope we can cinch this up at 4%. If not, I'll persue my original offer at other dealerships outside the area and will share my Advantage experience. Ironically, a guy who sits next to me is buying an A4 cab for his wife. He heard about my experience and didnt even set foot in Advantage so he's getting the gold one from Momentum within the next week or two.

...350Z was a bit too hard edged and impractical for me - but amazing nontheless. I can only imagine what you're doing with that thing up at TWS!

...he was a pleasure to work with, and the pricing was much better than at Advantage.

Best time so far is a 2:03.94 counter-clockwise and a 2:08 clockwise. This car is a blast to drive at the track. I'm putting Koni's adjustable shocks on it in the Spring... I'll be able to soften them for daily driving and firm them up for the track events. Should take a little of the edge off...
G35c is just as capable at the track... You get one, bring it to the track and I'll ask to be your instructor!

Joe retired due to health problems -- a stroke. I agree he was a great salesman. I bought 2 Audis from him, and he saved me huge amounts of money by referring me to his friend for Audi service -- instead of just taking my car in trade for a new one. He was both the epitome and antithesis of a true "salesman."

gave cars away. He would be hurt by that assessment of his skills. By the way, if I were interviewing you for a job, how much over minimum wage could I get for your services? You would be willing to work for as little as possible, right?

...and we closed the deal. I walked away with a smile on my face, just like the first time I did business with him three years ago.
Should have the new car in a couple of weeks...cant wait!

I wasn't aware that he had a stroke until it was stated. I was simply stating that the gave me a good deal and it's too bad he's not around. It's not like I'm poking a retarded boy with a stick or anything....sheesh, lighten up. He was probably a great guy, but I wouldn't know. Our business was, well purely BUSINESS.
Afterall, the topic of the thread was getting a good deal, not a rotten one so that the sales guy can feed himself and kids.
