Harris County Constables now show for court or they lose a day's pay the first time they miss, lose 3 days' pay the second time they miss and can be fired the third time they miss a court appearance (at least in Judge Ridgeway's (formerly Judge Fury's) court, JP 5/1). So expect the old get the case dismissed because the officer isn't going to show defense to be a lot harder to use if you were written a ticket by a Constable.
