I hope I'm the only one who has submerged their car today.

Not sure the extent of my damage but I drove up into a parking lot which turned out to be a bowl and thus drowned my car.

Oh well.

insurance did not write off the car.

Instead, they installed a new engine, new transmission, new front/rear brakes, new seats. Also paid to have the carpets professionally cleaned and dried.

He was not very happy. The title showed the car was flood damaged. He traded it a few months later and they dealership gave him something like $15,000 for it.

Nope, my car got water in the drivers side. But, unfortunately my girl's new 350z didn't make it. It's at the shop right now waiting for the insurance company.

It was parked at the Parking Spot at IAH. State Farm totalled it, thankfully.

Much of the Parking Spot is flood plain. Don't ever park there.

The REALLY pissed customers were those who had parked when the lot was really full. They had to leave their keys with the attendant.

Many cars were flooded even though the employees had the keys! For whatever reason, the valet-parked cars were not moved to the available higher ground.

You're gonna increase your gas bill by 25-35% easy.

Otherwise it's a great car.

Allroad would be better IMHO but that has the reliability-problem 2.7TT and sucks gas too. Turbos are not so hot in an off-road application.
