Its strange to see the door clearances different from side to side. Hopefully thats just the suspension pulling on the frame. For the frame to get stress, it has to deflect, generally to achieve stress levels high enough to cause permanant deformation something made of steel needs to bend alot more than what I'm seeing there. Perhaps the impact caused some unibody welds to break. Welds are more brittle than the steel in the regular uni-body. But a short severe shunt on the tire in a direction that puts high stresses on the suspension in a direction the frame isn't designed to handle can easily cause what we're seeing there. If thats the case then it should be fairly easy to straighten. fusilier 08-26-2002, 06:51 AM hwj 08-26-2002, 08:25 AM I learned from others' stories of having cars taken in for bodywork, take your shift knob if it's aftermarket (mine is an RS4 alcantara one). They can sometimes mysteriously disappear. Plus, if the car is totalled, I at least have a memento. Car was totalled and this is why I'm now part of Audiworld... |
