We've driven about 20 different wagon/crossover/suv things in the past two weeks without a clear winner. Given auction prices right now, it makes absolutely no sense to be looking at a brand new release, but if it's a perfect fit, I could be convincved.

a 2.7T A6, I'd find an A6 avant and have someone like advanced transplant the 2.7T into that and then go stage 3...you'd have one sweet dog hauler then.

What's the A6 used for?

experience says one car in the family just needs to be simple.

A cash-strapped family member really needs a car that size, so we're helping her out and treating ourselves to something new.

For the past year, the Paci's been what my son drives to school and what we all climb into to head to Maine. During the week I take the A6 or the TT and the wife drives the other. I originally bought the A6 for myself because I was getting tired of the Boston commute in the TT, but now I'm getting over the shifting laziness that I felt a few years ago.

After all, it's really floor area, rather than volume, that you need.

We bought a 2007 Acura MDX. She loves it. She looked at virually everything in that size catagory. (Q7, x5, Volvo, Madza CX-9 to name a few).

Sadly, it will probably be Europe-only. They keep giving us the ridiculous, top-heavy SUVs :(
