myself and 3 people I know(all with audis) went to a local well known tire shop (without naming them, it sounds like Tirect Dire) and all 4 of us were told we needed tie rods and none of us actually did.

In my case I told them I would have my indy do the work. I checked them when I got home and not only weren't they "frozen", but they were never even touched- they were coated with dried dirt showing that an attempt wasn't even made to loosen them

I just had Sep install all new front control arms/adjustable uppers. and new outer tie rods. Never seize on all bolts was the order.
