For some reason the MMI crapped out on me yesterday, no idea why. I started it up and the MMI screen stayed backed out... then when I hit the power button the AUDI MMI screen displayed but then turned back to black. I tried the reset procedure in the manual, but that didn't do anything. Any advice before I call the dealer to make an appointment? TIA

well this is how the previous generation audis worked...

not sure if same thing with the MMI screen versus the instrument cluster LCD...

this button also changes modes of MMI to gas mileage, dynamic gas mileage etc, miles left on tank (that one)

on the buttons will make things work incorrectly. Last week I just had the entire button cluster replaced on my moms A8. It still seems to be tempermental though.

Good luck getting it fixed, its very frustrating when its acting up.
