I've lived vicariously the past 4 months enjoying discussions at this excellent site - but no more.
picked up my 99 2.8QT Avant yesterday - pure pleasure. Making decision to buy was largely influenced
by all the positive vibes at this site.
1st thing I plan to change are the horrible rear red turn signal lenses. I'd really appreciate it
if folks would let me know
i) where to order replacement lenses for the rear lamp assembly for
an Avant; (99 should be same as 98.5?)
ii) part numbers if info available - also an idea of whats available. I'm thinking either clear or
amber lenses should look good with Aluminum Silver paint. What have other folks done?
option clear rear turn lens, in which case I'll need part number for amber bulbs.
There is a post in the FAQ on how to change lenses but the link is broken, so advice of how to get
lenses out much appreciated.
iii) How much is this going to cost me?
TIA, Mark 99A4QT Silver
I had a rear lens broken on my '97 A4 (sedan) and ordered a replacement from Carlsen. It cost $90 plus shipping - they said list price was $127. The sedan has Amber & Red turn signals available (depending on year) but the Avant only comes with red in the US (AFAIK).
