D2 or d3 ? I'm curious.

Late last night I was coming home from the airport. There were 3 people in my car and I saw him in his. I see him pull onto the highway. Its about 130 AM and the road is completely desolate so I guessed if the guy was into cars at all a run was inevitable. I go past him as he pulls on and I see him accelerate up next to me. Dropped into fourth to see if he would go and he punches it. I punch it too I am dead even until the top of fourth and I start moving up. Shift to fifth and put a cars length. I then let off because I am on snow tires and dont feel like getting a mondo ticket. Overall I am extremely happy with the results as people always claim the M3 blows the S4 away. I would like to see the results with just 1 person in each car. My mods include - APR downpipes, Custom Magnaflow catback, APR 93 reflash

I dont see the point of comparing an unodified car versus a modified one unless they are the same vehicle (Stg III S4 versus stock S4)

another. I dont get your point though - people buy performance mods to get the max potential from their vehicle. When it makes your car quicker than another that is usaully faster that in a sense is an accomplishment.

its not a sense of accomplishment to race a modified car versus a stock car and have the modified car be the winner. Its more of a "no sh1t" moment aka we knew that would happen. Your comparison does nothing for the "m3 is faster than the S4" argument because that comparo was between stock cars.

Yes, they claim that when talking about *stock* vehicles. You took the stock S4 and changed it. I am not sure why you are so proud that you "Refuted" that fact, because in reality, you didnt. You used a modified car to blow away a stock car.

You'll beat the S5, not the RS4.

however just enough in this case to win the upper hand. However, if you would like to know, I had a before and after dyno of my car without mods and with. I gained 2 whp total. I dont think that was enough overall to consider a significant change from factory spec. As far as I am concerned, my car is almost as stock as possible.

I played with plenty of M3s and left them in the dust in my "civil and calm" looking S6. it's just a v6 after all, now the new V8s, that's a diff. story...
